TITLE: #213 - Flow Control Problems with MT5634 Modems

KEYWORDS: flow control XON XOFF MultiTech modem

RELEASE: All

CLASSIFICATION: All

PROBLEM: Faxes sent by modem are missing pieces when received.

CAUSE: Modem does not use software flow control by default (as
it should, and other MT modems already do).

SOLUTION:

Edit the fax-line-* file(s) for the fax lines corresponding to
the MT5634 modem. Depending on the product you are using these
fax line files might be in any of the following directories:

		/usr/fax/dev
		/opt/FAXserver/dev
		/opt/faximum/dev
		/var/faximum/dev

and edit the line that defines the "modem-init-string" to add
the command "&K4" at the end.

	  For example:

	     before:
		modem-init-string = ATM0S0=0S7=45&D2&C1
	     after:
		modem-init-string = ATM0S0=0S7=45&D2&C1&K4
