Reading a Received Fax

Use the Browse Received Fax window to read a received fax.

The number of items displayed in the Browse Received Fax window depends on what you choose from the View pulldown menu and what permissions you have:

The Fax Name field is blank when a fax is received. You can use the Name Fax button to give the fax a unique name.

Reading a fax in your inbox
To read (view) a fax in your inbox or in one of your folders, select the fax and choose the View Fax button.
Moving a fax from General Delivery to your inbox
When Faximum receives a fax it either routes it directly to a user's inbox or puts it in General Delivery.

Direct routing is done if you have set up Incoming Fax Routing. If Faximum does not route the fax directly to your inbox then one of the following must occur:

If you do not see the Claim fax or Route Fax buttons at the bottom of the Browse Received Fax window then you do not have General Delivery access privileges.

See Claim Fax and Route Fax Buttons for more information.

Managing faxes in your inbox
Once you get the fax into your inbox you can view it. If you want to store the fax for later reference you can use the Name Fax button to give it a name.

You may also find it useful to set up one or more folders so that you can organize your received faxes. To move a fax from your inbox to a folder, select the fax and choose Cut or Copy from the Edit pulldown menu. Then select the appropriate folder and choose Paste from the Edit pulldown menu.

You can also save the fax as a file that you can move to other directories on your system. See Saving a Fax to a File.

Note that faxes are saved as TIFF files and can take up a lot of disk space.

For more information on things you can do with faxes, see the description of the menu items and buttons in The Browse Received Fax Window.
